By special request, I have also created four icons of the 12" PowerBook.
Download them. Email me if you wish.

For your enjoyment, I've created a set of six icons of the 17" PowerBook.

I've read a lot of discussion about the new 17" PowerBook being huge. I currently use a Pismo. In fact, the Pismo is 0.7" taller, 0.2" deeper, and with the two batteries I keep in it, 0.3 ounces heavier! So when in use, the only noticable difference for me will be the additional 2.7" of width. I think I'll manage.

The MSWF keynote has come and gone, and my 17" PowerBook is on order. This refresh is precisely everything I was waiting for. The November 2002 speed bumps, addition of 1x Superdrive, and price adjustments were really appealing, but the machine lacked the technology. I knew Apple would get us there eventually, but no way did I imagine it would be in January and they'd add a 17" screen to boot.
For the record, these are the enhancements I specifically wanted:
- Integrated Bluetooth
- 2x Superdrive
- double-speed Firewire
- 802.11g
- Better Airport reception
- No paint problems
- No heat problems
- Case redesign, perhaps to fix the last 3 above
Did that list seem realistic? I didn't think so. I'm hoping to replace my Pismo and Sawtooth with this one machine. Again,
I'm very impressed they put it all into one machine, in the form factor they did, with the bigger screen. The backlighting to me is icing on the cake.
